I used Abba Moving for a short distance move within the same town and was not satisfied with their services. Most of my furniture ended up with dents and scratches despite the short distance they mere moved. They completely damaged my bookshelf ( I guess they had placed a much heavier item on top of my bookshelf in the truck) . They would not offer any discount off the price despite the damage. We had moved the same items from out of state earlier without any damage. I think most of the damage took place in the truck due to the careless manner in which the items were placed and transported. Of the three crew members, only two seemed to take their job seriously, the third guy was not very professional. We will not be using their services again.
I highly recommend ABBA movers. They moved us on September 16, 2016 from Essex MD to Magnolia De. They were on time, extremely careful. The men were very polite and respectful. I plan a move in the Spring of 2017 and look forward to working with them again.
I have a hard time believing any of the couple of bad reviews on this company. I used them twice, once about 8 years ago, and again in July of 2015. In 2007, and again in 2015, it was a flawless move. The first time, they moved a truly huge household over a short distance for me. This last time, they moved me from Baltimore to Southern Florida - less stuff, but a long, difficult move. We had none of the nightmare scenarios you hear about with movers. The estimator, Leo, was really pleasant, and careful to explain our options. He took great care to assure that we understood the quote, and factors that could increase the final price. We packed a few things ourselves, stuff we told him we'd want them to pack, and in the end, the move was CHEAPER than quoted. Yes, this is true, they credited back the boxes we bought and packed ourselves, so that the final cost was less than quoted. I think most companies would have made some excuse and charged the full amount I signed for. This is a company with a very "diverse" staff - people of several colors, accents, and cultures who work together in an admirable way. If you are one to let this scare you - face it, some people can't help it even if they try - rest assured that all of their staff were courteous, respectful of our property and persons, and eager to give us a pleasant experience despite the real stress that a move causes. We really felt that we got to know and make friends with the guys who moved us, particularly Juan and Juan who were on both the packing end and on delivering our stuff in Florida. They were as careful, as friendly, and as nice as you could ever hope for. They went out of their way to assure no damage, and took care to place stuff where we wanted in the new house better than they really had to. I'd invite them back into my home any time, just to visit. This is a bunch of honest, hard working people who do their best to please. I'm sure that if there had been some dispute over something, they would have bent over backwards to make it right. However, our move was so flawless that I really did not have to find out if this is true or not. I sincerely wish them all the best, and recommend them highly.
The crew from ABBA Moving did an amazing job. I can’t say enough positive things about these guys. On the first day there were 5 guys on the team and on the second day there were 4 guys and they worked together like a well-oiled machine. They were fast, but careful when doing the packing. I requested a full service pack and move so I left it to these guys as the professionals and I’m glad I did. A quick example of the care that was taken: My wife’s grandfather made her baby cradle from a maple tree that was in his backyard. She’s been hanging onto it ever since for use with our children as well. It has been seeing small signs of wear from being moved so many times. All I did was mention how careful we have been trying to be with it even though it’s not being used anymore and one of the guys took it and wrapped it in a nice protective plastic layer to help preserve it. I didn’t ask him to do that, just mentioned how much it meant to my wife and he went out of his way to protect it for her. She was in tears with gratitude when I told her about it. Highly recommended for friends and family looking for a local moving company. Thank you, Abba!
